DescriptionOrganizations are looking to integrate operational data from the mainframe into strategic enterprise-wide observability platforms like Instana, Splunk and Grafana. Collecting these telemetry signals has traditionally been disjointed and complicated to manage. With the emergence of OpenTelemetry as an open cross-platform standard, the opportunity to provide end-to-end visibility of applications and the underlying infrastructure, including IBM Z, is simplified.
This session provides a hands-on experience of collecting the various signal types (traces, logs, and metrics) from z/OS and major subsystems. The lab will explore traces and use sample dashboards to view metrics and logs that provide cross-domain visibility and help reduce the time to detect, isolate and resolve operational issues.
