DescriptionThe Transport Layer Security (TLS) V1.3 standard is rapidly becoming the foundation for secure enterprise communications. This session provides an overview of TLS 1.3, highlights key differences from TLS 1.2, and discusses its implementation on z/OS with a focus on AT-TLS and System SSL. We will cover migration planning, common challenges, and performance considerations to help ensure a successful transition. As the industry prepares for post-quantum cryptography (PQC), TLS 1.3 is also becoming the foundation for emerging IETF quantum-safe enhancements, making adoption today an important step toward future cryptographic agility and PQC readiness.
