DescriptionEvery time a user presses "Enter" on a z/OS terminal or a web service hits an API, a silent conversation happens behind the scenes. The System Authorization Facility (SAF) is the unsung hero of this exchange, acting as the universal interface between z/OS and your External Security Manager (ESM). But how does a program actually "ask" for permission? This session peels back the curtain on the SAF router and the RACROUTE macro. We will move beyond high-level concepts to look at the actual mechanics of authorization.
