DescriptionI followed the documentation carefully. My JCL was set up to use storage group ABCSG where all the volumes start with ABC. After my job ran my dataset was on volume XYZ123 which meant it had used storage group XYZSG. I opened a ticket and 10 minutes later a harried storage administrator told me that they had reviewed the ACS routines and they hadn't found anything wrong and they closed the ticket. What is an ACS routine? What was he looking at? Is there something I can do to investigate this problem further? In this session I will discuss the ACS routines and the SMS specifications they control. I will also show you some tools that both storage administrators and regular users can use to solve the mystery of why my dataset was not allocated using the storage group I wanted.
